Vilas and Oneida County snowmobile trails will open on Friday morning. With the anticipated winter storm, including high winds and blowing snow, the Oneida Co. Forestry, Land and Recreation Department is asking riders to use extreme caution while riding as downed trees and low hanging branches may be encountered. Trails are in rough, early season condition. Riders are asked to stay on the marked trails. Off trail riding is considered trespassing and could result in the closure or loss of trails and citations as well as fines for those who participate.
