All snowmobile trails in the area a now officially open, and there was a ribbon cutting for the new Gogebic County Trail #2 in Ramsey on Saturday. 6News reports Gogebic Range Trail Association President Steve Hamilton says the project serves two purposes, connecting Bessemer and Wakefield and the re-route of the trail is shorter and much safer. Vice President and Trail Boss Jerry Nezworski said snowmobiles bring in road tax, they don’t have to ride on public roads and good trails bring in good tourist business. Both the president and vice president of the GRTA said they want to thank the DNR and the entire community for all their efforts.
