Ironwood Board of Ed Votes to Take Next Step on Bond Issue

The Ironwood Area Schools District Board of Education at their meeting earlier this week, voted unanimously to to approve a resolution that would ultimately place a bond issue on the May 2nd ballot. The $16 million bond would require a 1.45 millage increase that would be used to fund building an addition to the Luther L. Wright K-12 School. The DailyGlobe reports if the bond were approved, the new addition would be located where the former Josephson Nursing Home stands, which the district recently purchased and would be used to house an early childcare center. Bond funds would also go toward improvements to the athletic program. The 52 page document related to the proposal is available on the school district’s website.
