Bayfield Recreation Center to Be Sold to Non Profit That Manages It

It appears the Bayfield Recreation Center will continue serving the community. The AshlandDailyPress reports the Bayfield School Board voted to sell the rec center to Recreation and Fitness Resources, the non-profit organization that’s been managing it. None of the details of the sale of the center have been made public, but it is thought that the school district may sell the facility for a very nominal fee. Recreation and Fitness Resources, board Chairman Chuck Finn says there will be no immediate changes to the center, with the exception of committees to address fundraising, communications and facilities. Finn also said there will be public engagement with stakeholders and communities to ask what they want the facility to be in the future, as the center serves everyone from Bad River to Ashland, to Washburn, to Bayfield and to Red Cliff.
