Bayfield Courthouse Renovations Underway

As the renovations to the Bayfield County Courthouse get underway, three courthouse offices will move and the courthouse and the annex will get new ventilation systems. The DailyPress reports the annex will have its roof replaced. Moving three court-related offices closer to the courtroom will increase the efficiency of workflow in the building. The register of deeds moves to the existing clerk of court spaces, while the clerk of court and child support offices moves to the former register of deeds office. The moves allow the Forestry Department to grow into the child support office space. Another great improvement is three windows for the clerk of court are right in the court waiting area, so that questions can be answered easily. The renovations are being paid for with American Recovery Act funds.
