U.S. and state flags flew at half staff yesterday on all public buildings in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service and to honor the brave firefighters and first responders who risk their lives to protect their communities. Governor Whitmer said “the state joins families and loved ones across the nation on this solemn day to honor fallen firefighters and first responders who will forever be remembered for their bravery and dedication,”…”We salute those who gave everything and embrace the families and communities who are mourning on this day.” Flags should be returned to full staff today.
