New Housing Project Getting Underway in Ashland

Construction of a new housing development on the eastern side of Ashland is about to begin. According to the DailyPress, although it’s taken longer than anticipated, the construction on the Commonwealth Development of Middletown should start in a couple of weeks. The 50 two and three bedroom apartments were due to start building in July, but issues with permitting and supply chain issues along with elevated costs for construction materials slowed the process down. The $12 million project is expected to begin renting next summer. Commonwealth is in the process of putting up a website so that residents can apply for an apartment.
