The light poles on Bessemer’s Massie Field are finally getting a much needed refurbishment. According to the Globe, Pole Painting of Maple Lake, Minnesota started working on repainting the light poles on Monday. The poles have been around the field since the 50’s when they were first installed and haven’t been repainted since the 1990’s. The poles are first being sanded to remove any rust and old paint, a coat of primer and a top coat of special paint that will keep the poles from rusting any further. School superintendent Dan Niemi is pleased with the prograss on the poles in such a short time.
