The Point to La Pointe Swim is this weekend. Over 400 open water swimmers this year are prepared to take on whatever mood Lake Superior is in. The swim started as a community event for 24 swimmers in 2006. The course follows the path of the winter time “ice road” that starts in Bayfield and ends at a beautiful family home on Madeline Island. The event is a fund raiser for swim programs at the Bayfield Areas Recreation Center. Spectators can take the ferry across to view the competition.
