Project Lifesaver Website Is Up and Running After Receiving Erickson Grant

As of this past Friday, the Gogebic-Iron Project Lifesaver website is up and running. Project Lifesaver is a non-profit organization that helps people with cognitive impairments. Each individual wears a transmitter that tracks their location in the instance that they go missing. Law Enforcement then uses radio frequency to find their location. Gogebic and Iron Counties have made it their goal to raise enough money to purchase all the transmitters for everyone in need free of charge to the families. The program recently received a Jonathan A. Erickson grant which has helped fund the launch of the program. For more information on Project Lifesaver see the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
