Ashland Couple Get Out Safe, Interior of House Destroyed After Fire

A fire at a home on Lake Park Road in Ashland has left the two residents homeless. Ashland Fire Service responded to the Lake Park Road home around 7 pm last night and were able to quickly extinguish the fire that apparently started in the kitchen. The Ashland Daily News reports the homeowners were waiting at the door when Ashland Police arrived and helped them to safety. The structure was saved but the interior is likely to be a total loss due to smoke and heat damage. The residents of the home were aided in searching for their missing cat after the fire had been extinguished.
