Two local high school students will be going to the Special Olympics USA Games. Justin Esala, a 2019 Washburn High graduate, will compete in the 5o0 meter freestyle, 100-meter freestyle, and 4×50 meter relay. Katelyn Robinson, a 2014 Ashland High grad will be swimming the 50-meter backstroke, the 100-meter freestyle, and the 4×50 meter relay. The two have also competed in alpine skiing, basketball, track and field, and bowling in the special Olympics.
