The city of Ironwood and the Gogebic-Ontonagon Community Action Agency has received a portion of $1.7 million in Neighborhood Enhancement Grants. The Daily Globe reports that Governor Whitmer announce the grants yesterday. Ironwood received $45,000 and GOCAA received $35,000. The grants will help make necessary home repairs, energy-efficient upgrades, and neighborhood amenity improvements. Ironwood was aware of the grants in late May and has already awarded bids for three projects that will be funded with the grants.
