An amendment to the county’s land use ordinance was passed by the Iron County Board of Supervisors at their meeting this past Tuesday. According to the Daily Globe, there were two major changes to the ordinance, taking the responsibility of dealing with property violations from the district attorney and having the court council deal with those issues and then updating the Tourist Rooming House part of the ordinance, streamlining the application process, assigning a resident agent to each rooming house and that applications for permits should be filed with the zoning department, rather than applying for a conditional use permit from the county and then the TRH permit.
