Ashland County Sheriff Mick Brennan has announced that after 45 years of service in law enforcement, he will be retiring. Brennan started with the town of Jacobs Police Department in June, 1977, before joining the Ashland County Sheriff’s Department in December the same year. He left the sheriff’s department in 1979 and went to the Ashland Police Department. Brennan retired from the city in 2006 and then was elected sheriff in 2010. Brennan said the decision to retire was a difficult one, but he want to spend more time with his family, work around the house and spend more time on his boat.
