A nurse that works in labor and delivery at Ashland Memorial Medical Center has won a national award for her patient care. Registered nurse Lacy Putnam was nominated for a DAISY Foundation award by her patient, Nichole Gleeson. Gleeson was in labor with her first child and Putnam stayed by her side throughout her labor and delivery. The DAISY Award honors extraordinary nurses around the world for the compassionate care they provide to patients and their families. MMC’s Family Birthplace manager said that even though Putnam is not full-time, she is always prepared to be professional and pitch in when and wherever needed.
