The second phase of two large road construction projects are about to get underway in Bessemer. U.S. 2 through town is due to begin reconstruction from four lanes to three and the city’s water and sewer project to replace water and sewer lanes under that stretch of highway while it’s torn up. According to the Daily Globe, Eastbound traffic will be detoured from U.S. 2 onto South Mill Street, then to West Galena, and then head south on Moore Street, east on Longyear Street to Peck Street and back north to U.S. 2. There will be additional law enforcement employed to monitor the area.
