The Michigan Department of Transportation along with the city of Bessemer is investing about $9.9 million to rebuild 2.7 miles of US-2 from Powdermill Creek to east of Cedar Avenue through the city. Work is expected to start later this month to be finished in the fall. The MDOT is holding a public meeting with a short presentation next Thursday from 4-6 at the Bessemer City Hall, to apprise the community of the project’s progress and to answer any questions and to hear any comments. For more information, contact the MDOT.
