Bessemer DDA Will Not Decidee On Concrete Along US 2, MDOT to Plant Grass

At the meeting of the Bessemer Downtown Development Authority, the agenda was to have included discussion of laying colored and stamped concrete along U.S. 2 from Mill to Peck Street. According to the DailyGlove, the concrete option was preferable to the idea of grass along that strip. Turns out, the DDA doesn’t have the juridiction to implement such a project, and even if it did, the DDA can’t spend any money that hasn’t been included in it’s annual plan. Mayor Adam Zak said council member Terry Kryshak and city manager Charly Loper put a lot of investigation into the subject and that’s when the issues were discovered. The MDOT will plant grass in those areas.
