Animal Activists Protest Carden Circus

The Carden International Circus appeared at the Bay Area Civic Center in Ashland on Thursday, and animal activists stood out in the rain to protest the use of animals in shows like Carden’s. According to the Daily Globe, Carden has had numerous citations according to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals organization. The owner of Spinster Books, Jill Reinke says she’s determined not to allow the animals in the Carden show to be mistreated. Activist Eleesa Kline said there’s no way the animals in the show have good quality of life, being loaded on and off trucks every night, not being allowed to live their lives as they would in their natural environment.
