Although the city of Wakefield has the funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Division to replace 2.5 miles of 70 year old 6 inch water main, the project may be delayed until 2023 because the city will not be able to put the project out for bids until late Spring or early Summer. The Daily Globe reports city manager Rob Brown says he is not sure the city will be able to find a company to bid on the project with a reasonable offer so late in the season.
