Wakefield Renews Emergency Agreement, With Amendments

The Wakefield City Council at it’s regular meeting this past Monday voted to renew the city’s American Red Cross facility use agreement with some slight amendments. According to the Daily Globe, the agreement designates the municipal building as the chosen emergency operations center, which staff would use to coordinate event response during a disaster. The amended agreement will read “upon request and if feasible”, as the city has already worked out emergency response procedures with with Gogebic Medical Care Facility and Gogebic County. The amended arrangement will allow the city to have some flexibility in who occupies the emergency operations center in case of need.
