Wakefield Now Has It’s Own Weather Station

After Wakefield to have to claim reponsibility for recent sewer issues, the city has installed a weather station at city hall. The city had been using readings from the rain gauges in Ironwood, particularly at the airport, which can ary widely from what actually falls in Wakefield. The sewer system’s tolerance for heavy rainfall in a short time is just under 4 inches, which could then cause problems. According to the Daily Globe, city manager Rob Brown said at the city council meeting earlier in the month, the weather station may have to be put up higher, so the wind measurements may be off a bit.
