Recreational Marijuana Referendum Passes in Ashland

During the elections in Wisconsin on Tuesday, Ashland residents voted to approve the recreational use of marijuana for people 21 and over. A member of the Ashland City Council brought the subject to the polls in order to gauge public opinion. 955 voted to allow, 234 said it should continue to be illegal and 398 said it should be legal for medical use only. Although the city of Ashland doesn’t have the power to officially pass the law, council member Eric Lindell said the vote proved out positive public opinion about legalizing recreational marijuana.
