The Scholastic Book Fair made its way to Washington Elementary in Bessemer late last week and students were very happy to participate in the event. According to the Daily Globe, school principal Mark Switzer said the fair was well attended and the kids enjoyed being able to purchase books for themselves. According to Switzer, the event was much anticipated, with students helping to clean and organize the room the fair was held in. The snow on Wednesday meant the fair missed one day, but students were able to purchase books on both Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. The event was run by school staff, who volunteered their time to help out.
