Work on Extending Iron Belle Trailhead in Bessemer Moves Forward

The Bessemer City Council has decided to apply for a grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund in order to fund a section of the Iron Belle Trailhead behind City Hall. According to the Daily Globe, the council approved a resolution to allow Charly Loper to apply for the grant. The project is expected to cost just over $330,000. Bessemer has been able to raise the required matching funds of just over $88,000 in just under a year, with donations from residents, businesses and organizations, including a donation of $15,000 from the Gogebic Range.
