Still A Handful Of Power Outages in Mercer and More Snow Possible

There were still some customers of Xcel Energy in the Mercer area without power after heavy snow overnight Wednesday night weighed down lines and caused outages. The Daily Globe reports Xcel brought in crews from across the state of Wisconsin to clean up downed branches, power poles and lines and to get service back up. According to the NWS, Ironwood received at least three inches of snow as of early Thursday morning, with overall about 9 inches on the ground, thanks to a clipper system that will continue to move through the Gogebic Range through Saturday. The NWS says all told expected snow throughout the end of the week could total up to nine inches.
