High school students from Gogebic and Ontonagon counties are participating in in the Michigan College Access Program Personnel Student Leadership Summit at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. According to the Daily Globe, six kids from Bessemer, three from Ontonagon, one for Wakefield-Marenisco, and one from Ewen-Trout Creek are going. The Keweenaw Trio Upward Bound and Talent Search programs took 54 kids from Gogebic, Ontonogan, Houghton, Baraga, Iron and Keweenaw counties. The TRIO program pays for the students expenses to attend the Summit. More information on the TRIO programs can be found at keweenawtrio.org.
