The City of Ironwood’s government structure may soon be changing. As reported in the Daily Globe, an ordinance is before the city commission that would create a five person committee to advise them on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Once established the group will look over all new or amended ordinances before they are instituted. “There’s a section of the ordinance that outlines duties and makes it clear that it is advisory and does not have any regulatory powers,” says group member Gerry Gripper. “The group’s only job is to be advisory to the city commission.”
