The Iron County Development Zone is working with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and the Northwest Regional Planning Commission to roll out a simple internet speed test and they are asking residents and businesses to take the test to help establish where support is needed and build a case for funding. As reported in the Daily Globe, Iron County is in a prime position to capture funding to upgrade the area to high speed internet, but the county needs data to base its case on. The test will help determine where internet speeds are below federal standards. The test wll only take a few minutes, and residents simply need to log on to nwrpc.com/speedtest from home or work by May 8th.
