Monday night in Wakefield, the City Council announced two appointments to the library board. According to the Daily Globe, Mayor Dale White selected Alicia D. Riley to fill a full term vacancy on the board. Riley said she and her children have seen great benefit from the library in Wakefield and wanted to see it continue to thrive. Her term extends through the end of January 2027. Kathy Makela was also recommended and appointed to a partial term on the board which will expire at the end of January 2025. Makela said the feels the library is an invaluable resource which she can contribute her professional perspective to.
