Saturday was a return to live and in person participation for the MECCA Trails Winterfest, the first time in two years, since the pandemic forced the event to go online. According to the Daily Globe, The Flowage 15k skate proved to be the most popular event this year. According to Mike Shouldice, president of the MECCA Trails Association, at least another 65 people will be participating in the event virtually this year. Although the total proceeds won’t be known til after the virtual part of the festival, the event thusfar has raised $12,000 in sponsorships.
