The Ironwood City Commission and the Ironwood Planning Commission in a work session last week, discussed different options for regulating medical marijuana caregivers in the city. According to the Daily Globe, Director of Community Development Tom Bergman presented the group with five options on the subject. Historically, caregivers are allowed to grow medical marijuana for up to five patients, and are the subject of the most nuisance calls related to medical marijuana in the community, most of which are related to the smell of burning marijuana. The work session concluded after an hour and the committees agreed to reconvene at a later date to continue discussion on regulations and how to enforce them.
