At their last meeting in January, the Hurley City Council was told by a consultant of MSA Professional Services that 2022 would be the last year to apply for the Community Development Block Grant Program in its current incarnation. The Daily Globe reports, that starting next year, completing engineering studies would not guarantee a city would receive a grant and the studies are a prerequisite. Given the requirements, the Council has decided not to apply this year, as the cost is $9,200 to apply, just to determine if the city would even want the grant.
