This Saturday the Fourth Annual Hike by candlelight will be held at the Historic Montreal Ski Trails, hosted by The Northern Iron County Engaged Trail Corps. According to the Daily Globe, the University of Wisconsin-Madison Iron County Extension office will have its community snowshoes available to use for free at the event for anyone who does not have their own snowshoes, with kids and adult sizes to choose from. The 1.5 mile trail will be lined with torches, bonfires and luminaria to light the way. Hikers will find hot chocolate and other surprises along the way. Attendees are encouraged to wear anything that glows, including reflective clothing to help light the trail. The event is free but a good will donation of $10 would be appreciated.
