Wisconsin Man Killed, Wife Injured While Snowmobiling

The Department of Natural Resources has reported that a Wisconsin man has been killed in a snowmobile accident in Gogebic County. Richard Reesman, 73, and his wife of Burlington were riding along trail #160 near Lookout Mountain in Ironwood Township when he missed a corner on the trail and struck a tree. Reesman was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife was taken to Aspirus Ironwood for treatment of shoulder pain. The DNR reminds snowmobilers that riding at excessive speeds is the number one cause of fatal and serious injury accidents in the state. Always ride with caution at speeds appropriate for the conditions and your abilities.
