Students to Participate in Iron County Governance

Earlier last week, the Iron County Board of Supervisors swore in five student representatives from the Hurley School District. The Globe said the students were sworn in as an opportunity to include the youth of the community in the decision-making process for the community. There were also four student representatives from the Mercer School District. 4H Youth Development Educator with the University of Wisconsin-Iron County Extension said three student representatives will serve on the board and the others will be alternate members. Two of the student representatives will also serve on the Northern Iron County Engaged Residents board of directors and one of them will serve on the Gogebic Range Health Foundation as well.
