The Daily Globe has reported that during the meeting on Monday night of the Ironwood Area Schools Board of Education, Superintendent Travis Powell said the number of COVID-19 cases in Gogebic County are the highest they’ve ever been. Despite the rise of cases, the school will continue with in person classes for the time being. Powell explained that a year ago a switch to virtual learning might be in line, but now time the district has a plan, protocols and enough staff to keep students safe and in classrooms.
