Hurley School District Moves Closer to Building New Trail

The Hurley School District is applying for a Transportation Alternatives Program grant to cover the cost of building a trail along Range ViewDrive and Tenth Avenue into town to give kids a safe path to walk and bike to and from school. The district has contacted three different engineering firms for estimates of construction costs as required by the grant. District superintendent Kevin Genisot said the path would provide a safe route to school or to Ricelli Park. The district could find out some time in April if the application for the grant has been approved.
