At the meeting of the Gogebic County Board of Commissioners, securing grant funding for first responder training was discussed and according to The Globe, Chair Jim Lorenson reported that there are grants available if two requirements are met; governmental units have a per capital taxable value of under $15,000 and the other is that the training must be completed by the end of the fiscal year. He said there is some funding available through Michigan Works and he’d have more information on that availability at the board’s next meeting on February 9th.
