Late last week, the Iron County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a concerned parent in the Mercer School District about rumors of threatening behavior by a middle school student. Sheriff’s deputies responded immediately to the school and met with school officials. Those officials investigated the incidents and deemed they were not a credible threat. The Mercer School followed protocol in investigating the behavior. The Iron County Sheriff’s Office will continue to follow up at the school in order to maintain student and staff safety.
