Ironwood Residents Get A Chance to Get Involved During Volunteer Fair

Participants in Saturday’s first ever volunteer fair in Ironwood said the event was a comprehensive look at the many and varied opportunities to become involved in the community. Chamber director Michael Meyer greeted everyone and said he was pleased with the atmosphere of the event with most of the 34 organizations present setting up promotional materials to make the auditorium more visually exciting. The turnout was modest, but most of the organizations present were able to gain a few more names and numbers of local folk looking to get involved, and provided an opportunity for the different charity organizations to meet and interact with each other, which rarely happens.
