Budget and COVID Concerns Discussed During Wakefield City Council Meeting

A couple of items on the Wakefield City Council agenda…the council has approved the city’s amended budget to reflect increases to various accounts during their regular meeting Monday. The amendments include the increase in revenue of just over $87,000 the city received from the state through the American Rescue Plan. The council also heard discussion regarding how the fire department should handle Santa’s visit this year, due to a possible surge in COVID-19. The department is considering reverting to having the kids drop off letters to Santa and then deliver Santa’s responses on a firetruck as it was done last year.
