American Red Cross Helps Local Family Displaced by Fire As Seasonal Fires Increase

An Ironwood family of six has been displaced by a fire at their home on Arch Street over the weekend. The American Red Cross is providing temporary lodging as well as their immediate needs like meals and clothing. Since the beginning of the month, the Red Cross has helped 290 people displaced by 66 fires in the Western U.P. and throughout Wisconsin. The number of fires this year tracks with the typical increase of fires at this time of year. For more information or to help by volunteering or with a donation, go to redcross.org/local/michigan.
