Traczyk to Fill Position Vacated by Guenard in Montreal

The Montreal Common Council has appointed the first female mayor at it’s regular meeting this past Tuesday. Council member Kelly Traczyk will take the position effective October 1st. Tracyzk will fill the position vacated by Eric Guenard after he resigned to accept a position with the University of Wisconsin at the end of the month. Council member Maleah Cummings made the motion for Traczyk’s appointment, saying she was chosen due to her experience working to manage the city’s finances. Traczyk said she wants to use the knowledge from her profession to help the city secure additional funding sources for infrastructure planning.
