The Wakefield City Council heard public input this week from Harry Butler, regarding an easement at no cost across his property, provided the city would sign a 100 year moratorium on any motorized entry to the lake from that easement. Mayor Dale White thanked Butler for his attendance and said the council would make note of his request. The dual goal of Iron Belle Trail facilitators is to extend the paved “silent sport” trail while continuing a separate gravel trail for motorized vehicles. The conversation with Mr. Butler regarding his request and the easement has been ongoing for some time.
