The city of Bessemer has been awarded a $459,000 grant to put together an asset management plan for its water system funded by the Drinking Water Asset Management grant program through the Michigan Department of Environment Great Lakes and Energy. The water side now as well as the sewer side has funding for improvements. The city has three years to complete the project now that the monies have been awarded. C2AE, which helped to obtain the funding will be conducting the engineering on the project.
