With school starting next week, a large number of concerned parents were on hand for the regular Ironwood board of education meeting Monday night. Parents expressed views on both sides of the masking issue, with some threatening to withdraw their children if schools made masking mandatory. Superintendent Travis Powell said that at present the health department is not mandating masking, but that he had not finished processing all the information provided. The board will not take any action until receiving legal guidance on the issue, and will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, and parents are encouraged to attend and comment.
