The Gogebic County Board of Commissioners voted on Thursday to approve a recommendation from the economic development and capital improvements committee to accept a $50,000 proposal from UP Engineers and Architects to evaluate county buildings. The board also approved up to an additional $15,000 in additional funding to provide in depth analysis of the county jail facility, which will soon need replacement as it becomes inadequate for it’s current purpose. Board members James Lorenson and George Peterson were not present.
