Continued Vigilance Key to Stop Spread of COVID-19 Virus

The first incidence of the Delta variant of COVID-19 has been identified in Gogebic County, according to the the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Laboratories. There are two confirmed cases of the Delta variant in the county. Another six cases have been identified in Houghton County. Kate Beer, health officer for the Western Upper Peninsula Health Department says residents across are reminded to continue practicing mask wearing in public spaces, social distancing, hand washing and getting vaccinated. These actions help slow the spread of the virus.
